Save the cartridges. It’s easy to reuse or recycle your old ink jet cartridges. In 2008, Staples recycled more than 22 million cartridges in the US through their various ink and toner cartridges programs. Ink cartridges are one of the easiest things to recycle and reduce the amount of plastic we put into landfills.

Most cartridges can be recycled up to 6 times and are guaranteed to work as well as new ones. Some ink jet cartridges can be used more than once by purchasing a refill kit. If that’s too messy for you just drop off the ink cartridge at your local drop off center. Some companies take ink cartridges back for free and will provide you a mailer.
